Jamshedpur, May 12: Vegetable prices in the city are toeing the line of petrol and LPG, it seems. Topping the list of costly vegetables is potato which is being sold for Rs 28 a kilo.

According to few traders of Parsudih Market, potato price may go up further in the coming days.

The controversial onion, which is often in the news for wrong reasons, is few notches below at Rs 20 per kg, assuming a down-to-earth status for the time being.

The omnipresent tomato has seen a steady rise to Rs 40 a kg. It is however no more being seen everywhere, given its upward trend. It has maintained its rate for the last one week. Delay in arrival of fresh stocks and scorching weather have led to its price rise, sources said.

Green vegetables are however at a comfortable price level.
