Portal to virtually connect COVID-19 patients and families in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Kolhan Commissioner Manish Ranjan on Tuesday presided over a COVID-19 review meeting at Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi. He informed that the Kolhan administration has come up with a plan to launch a portal so that the COVID-19 patients being treated at different hospitals can be connected with their family members through a virtual platform.

He said that he has asked the administration to come up with a portal to help corona patients admitted at the hospital to connect with family members. He said that the meeting was called to review the COVID-19 status in the district. ���

� We want that a patient in the hospital can now spend time with family members by video chat. Even the hospital personnel can brief the family about the status of the patient. I have asked the administration to work on the portal,� said the commissioner.

Another official of the administration said that efforts will be made to keep hospitalised patients connected with their families and friends and to stave off loneliness and boredom.

In the wake of the growing corona positive cases in Kolhan division, the commissioner convened the meeting to discuss its prevention and treatment. A future action plan was discussed for prevention and treatment of coronavirus. Ranjan gave necessary guidelines on various subjects including better arrangement of Quarantine Center, increasing testing capacity, increasing number of beds. He said that the government is making every effort to protect people from corona infection and that the infected should get better medical facilities.

The commissioner also asked representatives of private hospitals to further increase the number of COVID beds in the city as cases of coronavirus continue to rise.

In view of the increasing cases of corona, the Commissioner instructed various COVID Hospital managers to increase the number of beds in their hospitals. They were asked to provide additional beds in the hospital so that the pandemic can be controlled.

The commissioner also informed that during the meeting it was decided to develop a SOPs related to the treatment of the COVID-19 patient.

The Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar also directed the hospitals to compulsorily keep the corona infected record along with their ID proof. Along with this, instructions were also given to inform COVID-19 infected people about the protocol. In the Corona period all hospitals were directed to take appropriate measures for the betterment of patients.
