Political parties asked to take mandatory clearance for rallies and meetings in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 26 : East Singhbhum deputy commissioner and district returning officer for the Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency, Amit Kumar has asked political parties to file applications before 48 hours through Suvidha mobile app with mandatory clearance to get permission for rallies and meetings.

He asked the parties to use Suvidha App, the single window system for both party candidates and political parties to apply for permission before conducting meeting, rallies and nukkadnataks.

Application request will have to be mandatorily 48 hours before the date of program/rallies  as otherwise the app will not accept the request. This mobile app will be used also for seeking permission for construction of temporary party office, construction of dais, permission of vehicles to be used for campaign etc.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched a set of mobile apps, and other online initiatives related to electoral processes which can be used by candidates and political parties to submit mandatory filings/statements or request certain permissions. One of the App launched by ECI is Suvidha App. It’s a single window system for both candidates and political parties to apply for permissions before conducting meetings, rallies, etc. This can also be done through the Android app. The ECI has also issued directions to give permissions within 24 hours once candidates/parties make a request.

Candidate or a political party have to upload clearances from concerned government department and the concerned police station officer for a meeting, rally or any form of campaigning in the app informing about the date and venue of the program, the assembly constituency and the Parliamentary constituency. The application will be automatically routed to the assistant returning officer and permission will be given after scrutiny of the documents within 24 hours of the request, said Amit Kumar.
