Jamshedpur, Sept 16: Police saved a man from being lynched by a mob in Bhuiyandih Kanu Bhatta under Sidhgora police station area on Saturday.
According to police the man was caught by local residents when he was reportedly running towards the river. Suspecting him to be a child lifter, the people caught him and locked him in a room. The mob started beating the man when someone informed police about the incident.
A police team was soon rushed to the spot from the composite control room (CCR). Police brought the man to the police station, but the mob reached there too. Police officials somehow pacified the mob and assured them of conducting a probe into the allegations against the accused.
