Plantation drive marks Environment Day at Jamshedpur Women’s University

Jamshedpur, May 30: The NSS Department of Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) celebrated World Environment Day with an awareness program and tree plantation drive at the Bistupur campus. The event commenced with a speech by DSW Dr. Kishwar Ara, who addressed students on the urgent need to protect the environment and encouraged them to actively participate in afforestation efforts. She emphasized the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.

As part of the initiative, a jamun sapling was planted to mark the occasion. Joining the effort, Head of the Commerce Department Dr. Kamini, along with Dr. Ratna and others, also planted trees. The students participated enthusiastically, contributing to the plantation of medicinal and fruit-bearing plants such as neem, basil, guava, banana, lemon, mango, and papaya.
