New Zealand woman adopts orphaned child from Jamshedpur

A woman from New Zealand has adopted an orphaned child from East Singhbhum, opening a new chapter of care and affection.
District Magistrate Rajiv Ranjan handed over the child at the Jamshedpur Collectorate office on Wednesday after officials completed all legal adoption formalities.
The child previously resided at a specialized adoption agency in Sonari, where staff provided daily care and protection until the official legal handover occurred.
The foreign resident will now raise and care for the child as a single parent, promising a secure and loving future overseas.
This adoption marks a significant milestone for local authorities who work continuously to rehabilitate vulnerable children and grant them stable family environments.
East Singhbhum district administration has placed eight orphaned children with adoptive families between April 1 and October 28 this year, expanding its community outreach.
Officials prioritize the safety, care, and overall development of children throughout the strict legal verification process before confirming any permanent home placement.
Authorities kept the child’s identity completely confidential to safeguard personal privacy and ensure a smooth transition into the new life.
This success reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to give every orphaned child a permanent, affectionate family and bright prospective future.
