Jamshedpur, July 9: Jharkhand transport, ST-SC and backward class welfare minister, Champai Soren on Friday launched a pilot project of fogging in 11 panchayats of the East Singhbhum district.Â
Informing about the pilot project, East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar said that utilising the funds available in the 15th finance commission the district has started a pilot project of conducting fogging to fight vector borne diseases even in rural pockets as in recent years, there have been vector borne diseases like malaria, dengue and chikungunya even in rural areas of East Singhbhum. \
The deputy commissioner said that during monsoon season there are water logging even in rural areas which leads to breeding of mosquitoes which act as vectors in such viral diseases and as a pilot project they have selected one panchayat each from the 11 blocks of the district and depending on the response they will be spreading it to other panchayats of the blocks.
The panchayat and the blocks are as follows Domjuri (Baharagora), Bankisole (Dumaria), Angarpada (Ghurabandha), Hitku (Jamshedpur Sadar), Jugishole (Dhalbhumgarh), Hendeljudi (Ghatshila), Birdoh (Chakulia), Potka (Potka), Terenga (Mosaboni), Pokhriya (Bodam) and Lachipur (Patamda).
The program was also attended by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato.
