Jamshedpur, Aug 17: Theft cases in Mango continue to rise, with the latest incident reported from a discount medical store near Chepapul. A customer, Virendra Yadav of Pardih, was robbed of Rs 12,300 while purchasing medicines on Saturday evening. The entire incident was captured on the store’s CCTV cameras.

According to police, the theft occurred around 8:05 p.m. when Yadav was checking his prescription and medicines at the counter. Taking advantage of the distraction, a pickpocket standing behind him skilfully removed the cash from his back pocket and fled. Yadav realized his money was missing only when he reached the cash counter to pay.

Store staff immediately reviewed the CCTV footage, which clearly showed the thief executing the crime. The footage has been handed over to police, who have launched an investigation. “We are analysing the video and will arrest the culprit soon,” an officer confirmed.

Yadav, distressed by the incident, said, “I had gone to buy medicines worth just Rs 900, but ended up losing over Rs 12,000. People must stay alert in crowded markets.” A formal complaint has been lodged, and police are confident of making an arrest.
