Jamshedpur, Jan 27: The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated at JUSCO School South Park with patriotic zeal and fervor. The day began with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guest Dr Amit Ranjan Chakraborty, Chief, Environment Management, Tata Steel Ltd and School Principal, Mili Sinha, followed by the National Anthem.
The Principal in her address to the faculty and students expressed pride in the rich cultural past of the country and asked the students to understand and preserve the same. She also urged the students to be creative and focus on innovation so that they can create opportunities for self and employment for others. The chief guest in his address to the gathering congratulated and praised the well coordinated program and advised the students to stand together to make our nation strong and powerful. He also emphasised on being honest because each step of honesty helps the country to grow.
The students of the junior school presented a dazzling dance performance on “Patriotic Songs” and the school choir touched the hearts of the audience with their melodious music. The program also included motivating piece of patriotic Hindi poem, English recitation and speeches by the young leaders of tomorrow.
