Orientation Program 2024 at XITE Gamharia

Jamshedpur: The Orientation Program 2024 at XITE Gamharia, held from July 23rd to July 30th, concluded with great success, making a significant impact on both students and facilitators. The week-long event, designed to welcome and integrate the new students into the academic environment, featured a variety of engaging activities and informative sessions.

The program began with a warm welcome from Principal Dr. Fr. E. A. Francis, SJ, who set an encouraging tone for the week. The first day included an introduction to XITE, a multi-religion prayer, a quiz, and a time management session led by Prof. Swati Singh.

Day 2 saw an ice-breaking session by Mr. Tony Castelton, followed by a talk on the responsible use of IT by IIM Indore alumna Shraddha Agarwal. The day also featured a talent hunt showcasing fitness and art.

On Day 3, students participated in a communication skills workshop with Prof. Akinchan Xaxa and attended talks on recent industrial trends by Mr. Ranjot Singh, Chairman of CII Jharkhand, and Mr. Prabhat Kumar, State Head of CII Jharkhand. The day concluded with a talent hunt that included drama and open mic performances.

Day 4 included an alumni talk by Akshit Anand and an energetic Zumba session led by Zin Usha Gope and Zin Deepshikha.

The focus on social responsibility took center stage on Day 5 with a session on “Giving Back to Society” by Mr. Amit Sinha, Founder of Koru Foundation, and a talent hunt featuring dance and music.

Day 6 highlighted moral values with a session on Moral Rearmament by Mr. Gurupada Mahato from TSF.

The week culminated in the celebration of Loyola Day on July 30th. Students showcased their talents through cultural performances under the guidance of Prof. Akinchan Xaxa and Dr. Radha Mahali, celebrating the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola and fostering a sense of community among the students.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended to all participants and facilitators, including Prof. Sushmita Sen Chowdhury, Prof. Amit Chaturvedi, Prof. Anjali Jha, and the Branding & Communication Department. The successful orientation program has laid a strong foundation for the incoming students, enhancing their sense of belonging and readiness as they begin their academic journey at XITE Gamharia.
