Jamshedpur: Members of all opposition parties staged a demonstration before Jamshedpur Collectorate on Thursday to protest against the alleged incident of attack on district Congress president Vijay Khan in Telco.
The protestors alleged that certain anti-social elements associated with the BJP and RSS were trying to disrupt peace by targeting their political adversaries. The recent attack on Vijay Khan at his residence in Telco was one such act, they said.
A delegation of the protestors met Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and demanded stringent action against the culprits. The protestors said the sole motive of the culprits was to foment communal discord in the city.
Among those present during the protests included Ramdas Soren, Babu Singh, Ambika Banerjee, Vijay Khan, Lalan Yadav, Budheshwar Karua and Upendra Singh.
