One arrested in Golmuri Muslim Basti firing

Jamshedpur, Dec 15: Four persons have been named in the FIR while one was arrested in the firing incident that took place on Thursday night at Golmuri Muslim Basti.

Members of Wasseypur Gang Club on Thursday night attacked a youth Mashir of the same locality while he was returning home. the gang members surrounded Mashir and started abusing him. They then fired ten rounds in the air to create panic in the locality. The incident occurred at about 10 pm on Thursday night. Immediately on receipt of information the City SP along with forces from Golmuri, Telco, Burmamines and Sakchi police stations reached the spot of the incidence.

The police team raided several places in the locality to nab the members of the Wasseypur Gang Club. According to reports, Golmuri Muslim Basti resident Babban�s nephew Md Mashir was returning home when he was waylaid near the Tanki Boys� Club by 10 to 15 youth of Wasseypur Gang Club. They encircled him and started abusing him. Instead of reacting, Md Mashir returned home and informed the elders of the incident. Then Mashir�s family members went out to the spot to identify the youth standing there and then returned home.

The report further stated that after about half an hour four to five other youth reached the spot and along with the Wasseypur Gang Club members and started abusing and then fired at random which led the panicky Basti members to shut doors and windows.

The locality people emerged from their houses after the police force arrived. The residents informed the police about the activities of those members. Md Mashir told the police that Agrico resident Salman, Shadab, Jishu, Noman and others.

The residents of Golmuri Muslim Basti said that it was the regular practice of the attackers to fire indiscriminately in the residential area. They said that Salman of Agrico was a regular visitor at Golmuri and stated that it was he who had formed the Wasseypur Gang Club.
