Jamshedpur, Dec 15: Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency candidate and Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das� opponent from the seat Saryu Roy was accused of forceful occupation of a plot of land by a lady of Namkum in Ranchi who also complained that whenever she opposed this move she was threatened with dire consequences.
When asked, Saryu Roy said, �I have not purchased any land from any woman. The accusation is false and baseless and I have not hidden anything from anyone. I have provided the details of this portion of land in my election application documents to the Election Commission. Why would I have declared this plot of land if I had acquired it illegally?�
Roy, explaining the matter further informed that he had purchased the plot in contention from the then CBI DIG Rakesh Asthana and a senior journalist. �If the lady has any logical complaint she should lodge it in their name. I am really surprised by this lady�s allegation. How did this issue crop up during elections and under whose instigation are questions that need to be probed. If that plot of land is really hers why didn�t she raise the matter earlier?�
On Thursday a message on social media went viral which stated that Saryu Roy had been called to Delhi. The message also mentioned that a senior executive of the Sangh was carrying the letter to him. To this query, Roy stated, �I have received no such letter nor do I have any information about it. May be it is on the way. I will be able to say something about it only when I receive such communication.�
