One arrested for copper theft at Tata Steel Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 17: A major incident of copper cable theft has come to light in the Tata Steel Company premises.

According to the information received, a young man was caught red handed by the vigilant security guards of the company while stealing at around 12:30 in the night in the company’s DM Plant (Zone Four). The accused has been identified as Mohammad Mubarak Ali, a resident of Jugsalai Garib Colony. It is said that he was illegally entering the company and cutting the copper cable. Tata Steel Security caught him immediately on the basis of secret information.

After this, the security personnel of the company handed over the accused to the Bistupur police station, but the incident shocked everyone when the young man escaped from the police station premises after eating breakfast and drinking water by dodging the police.

The police department is taking this matter seriously and is continuously conducting raids at possible hideouts to arrest the accused. Police said that the way the accused escaped is being investigated and he will be arrested again soon. Till the time of writing the news, the accused has not been arrested.
