Jamshedpur, February 4: Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd., a leading building materials company, organised a free medical health check-up camp under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at Northeast Gadra Panchayat near the Jojobera Cement Plant in Jharkhand.
The camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and provide basic medical services to people living in villages around the plant area. Residents were offered general health check-ups, eye and dental examinations, and primary medical consultations to help in early detection of health issues and improve health awareness.
An experienced female doctor conducted general health check-ups, creating a comfortable environment especially for women and children. Health workers including Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) and Sahiyas from the district health department were present to support vaccination services and distribute essential medicines. Around 120 people from different age groups and genders benefited from the camp.
The programme was organised with the support of local leaders and representatives such as District Council Member Kusum Purti, Block Pramukh Pani Soren, Mukhiya Juhi Besra, Panchayat Samiti member Sombari Patro, ward members Birju Patro, and representatives from Arvat NGO. Officials from the district health department including CHO Anna Guria also actively participated.
Hari Kishore Garikapati, Plant Head of Jojobera Cement Plant, said the company is committed to working closely with local communities to improve their quality of life. He added that health camps are part of Nuvoco’s efforts to support preventive healthcare and create a positive social impact.
The initiative was appreciated by villagers, who welcomed the company’s efforts to bring healthcare services closer to their homes.
