Jamshedpur Pragya Kendra operator murder case: Main accused arrested from Ulidih, weapon and bike seized

Jamshedpur, Feb 5: The police have achieved a major breakthrough in the murder case of Tarapada Mahato, a Pragya Kendra operator and husband of Ulda Panchayat Deputy Mukhiya Sha Rani Mahato, who was killed over a land dispute in the Galudih police station area.
The main accused, identified as Niwas Kumar Dubey alias Chhotu Dubey, has been arrested from the Ulidih police station limits and sent to judicial custody.
Acting on the arrest, the police also recovered a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, and a red-and-black TVS Rider motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.
Rural SP Rishabh Garg disclosed the details during a press conference held at the police office on Thursday. He said that specific intelligence inputs indicated that one of the accused involved in the murder was hiding in the Ulidih area. Following directions from the SSP, City SP, and Rural SP, a special raiding team was constituted under the leadership of the Ghatshila SDPO.
The team conducted a raid and arrested the accused from his in-laws’ house in the Ulidih area.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the motive behind the murder was a long-standing land dispute. With this arrest, a total of three accused have so far been taken into custody in connection with the case. Earlier, two accused were arrested during a vehicle-checking drive near Chandni Chowk under the MGM police station area.
The Rural SP further informed that one more accused involved in the crime is still absconding.
Police teams are conducting continuous raids at possible hideouts and assured that the remaining accused will be arrested soon.
Police officials stated that the case is being investigated from all angles and strong evidence has been collected to ensure stringent punishment for those involved.
