Nursery admission: DAV Bistupurconducts manual lottery

Jamshedpur, Jan. 13: Ending the long wait, Steel city schools started the nursery admission process, most of which is through manual lottery.

According to the directive of the district education department, 50 seats in each school must be reserved for BPL students. The selection is being done through a lottery under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.

DAV Public School, Bistupur conducted manual lottery for admission to nursery for the session 2017-18 on Friday, January 13 at the school premises.

For the 200 nursery seats, school received 1228 application. Manual lottery was taken out for 150 seats while 50 seats have been reserved for BPL category students.

On the occasion Principal of DAV Bistupur Pragya Singh, Principal of DAV NIT OP Mishra, LMC member BK Dinda, Harjeet SIngh, senior teachers of the school, prominent citizens and media personnel were present. The school followed all the rules of the manual lottery process, said Principal Pragya Singh.

All the Private English-medium schools in Jamshedpur started handing out forms for entry-level admissions (LKG, nursery, UKG or Montessori) for the 2017-18 academic session in September 201.
