Notices to 42 shop owners in Jamshedpur for flouting COVID norms

Jamshedpur, July 24: Under the directives of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Incident Commanders are to conduct routine checks at crowded areas and market places as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection. On Friday, July 24, the Incident Commanders today inspected such places under their command areas and booked 42 shopkeepers not wearing masks, not using sanitizers and not maintaining social distancing in their establishments. 23 shops in JNAC area, 5 in Jugsalai, 6 in Mango, 2 in Azadnagar, 3 in Bistupur, one in Kadma and 2 in Sonari were handed notices containing show cause directives. Action will be taken against these shopkeepers under relevant sections of the DM Act. The Executive Officer of Mango Municipal Corporation Ravindra Gagrai issued notices to six shopkeepers while he removed footpath traders on both sides of Azadnagar Road # 15 because of excess crowding and sent them to some other place and directed that shops were not to be set up there. JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar served notices to 23 shops.

Jugsalai Municipality Executive Officer Jagdish Yadav handed notices to five shops and sought clarification for not following government and administrative protocols. Executive magistrate-cum-Incident Commander Savita Topno served notices to three shops on Bistupur Main Road namely Lenovo, Allen Solly Junior owners for not wearing masks and not using sanitizers and to the owner of Archie�s Gallery for not wearing mask and for having more than five customers in the shop premises.

Incident Commander Chandradev Prasad issued notices to one hotel owner in Kadma, one IMFL outlet and one cyber caf� in Sonari. Incident Commander Manmohan Prasad today sealed Madina Cloth Store and Patna Bakery, both on Old Purulia Road in Azadnagar. He issued notices to the owners and demanded clarification within 72 hours for bending lockdown norms.
