Jamshedpur: A one-day training programme on the use of the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS) mobile app was held at the Collectorate Auditorium to ensure greater transparency and efficiency in MNREGA implementation. The training, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Aniket Sachan, was conducted for all Block Program Officers (BPOs) of the district.
The NMMS mobile app, a key initiative under MNREGA, has now been made mandatory for capturing real-time attendance of laborers engaged in community works. The training highlighted that attendance will be recorded in two shifts daily and uploaded through Panchayat-level mapped mates using the app.
Addressing the gathering, DDC Aniket Sachan emphasized that wage payments for MNREGA workers will henceforth be based solely on attendance recorded via the NMMS app. “This will ensure transparency in operations and streamline wage disbursal in a timely manner,” he said. He further instructed all BPOs to not only ensure proper usage of the app but also to organize training sessions for Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRS) and mates at the block level.
The training marked the beginning of a district-wide rollout plan. Following this, each BPO will conduct localized training in their respective blocks to ensure all field-level personnel become proficient in operating the app, thereby facilitating smooth and effective implementation of MNREGA provisions.
