New members to make Jharkhand assembly session special

 

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Assembly session of the newly elected Hemant Soren government will be special in many ways witnessing not only new faces and absence of several established leaders.

The assembly session is scheduled between 9 to 12 December. Several new faces are going to come to the House for the first time. However, the cynosure of attraction would be the Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) leader Jairam Mahato who would be making debut in the assembly.

Veteran BJP leader and Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’s daughter in-law Purnima Sahu would also be making her debut representing Jamshedpur East.

On the other hand, the government will prove the vote of confidence in the House. During this, the Hemant government will also present a supplementary budget for its second term in the House.

At the same time, the new Speaker of the Assembly will also be announced. In view of this, a meeting of the INDIA bloc has been called at the Chief Minister’s residence which will be chaired by Hemant Soren himself.

In the INDIA bloc meeting, a strategy will be made regarding the preparation of the assembly session. Along with this, ministers and MLAs will be suggested and instructed to come to this session with full preparation.

On the other hand, the opposition will also be cornering the government on various issues.

The Leader of Opposition’s chair is going to remain vacant in the first assembly session

The Leader of Opposition’s chair will remain vacant in the first session of the Jharkhand Assembly. Because it has not been selected yet. Nor is there any discussion within the BJP about who will be given the responsibility of this post.

However, the top leadership of BJP is going to hold a meeting soon regarding this. Currently, BJP is pondering over its defeat in the elections. A few days ago, the party had talked to the defeated candidates one-on-one to know the reason for the defeat.

The first day will witness new MLAs taking oath while the second day is expected to witness election of new speaker. At the moment, JMM veteran leader Stephen Marandi has been nominated as pro-tem speaker.

On December 11, Jharkhand’s Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will address the house and the supplementary budget will be tabled in the House by the new finance minister Radha Krishana Kishore.

On December 12 there will be debate on the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address, discussion on the supplementary budget and address by the chief minister Hemant Soren.
