New Delhi: The state industry department organized a seminar on Investment opportunities in Jharkhand in collaboration with FICCI on Monday.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren said the state had no dearth of basic infrastructure and natural resources. He said the state had good opportunities for the various industries.

These opportunities may prove beneficial both for the industries as well as investors looking to set up industries in Jharkhand, he said.

The CM said there were immense possibilities in the state that had 40 per cent contribution to the total output of minerals in the country. He said the government was bringing about reforms in its industrial policies to attract investors. He said the government was going to set up a mega foodpark at the expense of Rs 100 crore to promote agriculture in the state.

We want to ensure welfare of the farmers of Jharkhand by promoting the agriculture sector. We plan to develop food processing industries here and set up cold storage, transport system and other necessary infrastructure, said the CM.

Soren further said that the labour cost was the lowest in Jharkhand. Such an environment is favourable for industries to set up their plants in the state. The industries should be set up in the state to provide employment opportunities to the local people, he said.

The CM said Jharkhand produced green vegetables and other crops in large volumes. The production of the state was much higher as compared to other states. He appealed to investors to make huge investments in the state and benefit from the purity and quality of crops and carry out organic farming.

The industry minister of the state Champai Soren was also present during the seminar. He said the resources were being enriched in Jharkhand to motivate investors. He said the government wanted inclusive development of the state and its industries. Skill development is being done by the government, he said.
