Newly Constructed CGPC Hall Dedicated Amid Grand Prakash Utsav Celebrations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: The newly constructed hall of the Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC) was formally dedicated to the Sikh congregation amid reverberating chants of “Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal” during a Central Diwan held at the CGPC office on Wednesday.

The programme was organised in connection with the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and witnessed a large turnout from the Sikh community across the city. The religious gathering reflected deep devotion and enthusiasm, marking the occasion with traditional fervour.

Community leaders and devotees participated in the Central Diwan, offering prayers and expressing gratitude for the completion of the new hall, which is expected to serve as an important centre for religious, social, and community activities in the future.

The dedication of the hall during the Prakash Utsav celebrations added to the spiritual significance of the event, reinforcing the CGPC’s role in preserving Sikh traditions and strengthening community bonds in Jamshedpur.

CGPC Hall Dedicated

Following the conclusion of the Kirtan Darbar, the hall constructed by the CGPC was dedicated to the sangat. Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi attended the event as the chief guest and appreciated the constructive and service-oriented work being carried out by the Central Committee. He assured all possible support in the future. On the occasion, he was honoured with a shawl and a memento.

Doctors providing free services at the Sri Guru Ramdas Welfare Center OPD, including Rajendra Singh, Inderjit Singh Mukherjee, Rajdeep Kaur, Prerna Mukherjee, and Satbir Singh Saini, were felicitated with shawls and mementos. Harpreet Singh, P.K. Sahu, and Harvinder Singh, who were out of station, will be honoured at their residences. Senior TMH doctor Prashant Kumar Singh, who could not attend due to his busy schedule, will be honoured separately at his clinic.

Felicitations and Prizes For Individual Contributors, Schools

Several Sikh organisations and their office bearers were also felicitated for their cooperation in the Nagar Kirtan. These included Gurpreet Singh, President of Refugee Colony Gurdwara and his team; Satbir Singh, President of Token Dugri Gurdwara and his team; Amrik Singh, President of Central Naujawan Sabha and his team; and Ravinder Kaur, President of Central Sikh Stri Satsang Sabha along with Chairman Kamaljit Kaur, Vice President Palwinder Kaur, General Secretary Sukhwant Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, and members of all Sikh Stri Satsang Sabhas.

Prizes were distributed to schools for their performances in the Nagar Kirtan. Mango High School secured first place, Telco High School second, and Sakchi High School third. Among middle schools, Mango Middle School and Refugee Colony School won first prize, Three Plate Middle School second, and Burma Mines Middle School third. In the Sikh Stri Satsang Sabha category, Jemco secured first prize, Telco second, and Namda Basti, Mango, and Refugee Colony jointly received third prize. All units of the Stri Satsang Sabha were also recognised, while religious processions were given encouragement awards. In the procession category, Namda Basti won first prize, Study Circle second, and Three Plate third.

Several people were honoured for their special contributions, including Surendra Pal Singh of Dayal Builders for his major contribution to the hall construction; Harjeet Singh Bittu for arranging Guru Maharaj’s palanquin for the Nagar Kirtan; social worker Gurdeep Singh Pappu for providing buses for devotees every year; Manjit Singh Gill, state president of Rangreta Mahasabha, for his notable social service; and Yuvraj Singh Jugnu, President of BJP Sakchi Mandal, among others.

CGPC President Bhagwan Singh expressed gratitude to all contributors associated with the construction of the Central Committee building and other development works. Chairman Sardar Shailendra Singh conducted the programme, while Gurcharan Singh Billa delivered the vote of thanks.
