Jamshedpur, March 25: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer Amit Kumar Monday convened a meeting with all city printers at Jamshedpur Collectorate auditorium. He mainly discussed the directives of Election Commission of India regarding publication of posters, pamphlets and other election publicity materials by printers for various candidates.
He said the name and address of printers and publishers should be clearly mentioned on the posters and pamphlets. The content of these posters and pamphlets should be verified before being published, he said, adding that verification will be done within 24 hours of arrival of copies. Publishers have been asked to submit a declaration in two copies with their signature duly attested by two other persons. Failure to comply with the ECI norms may attract a jail term of six months and fine of Rs 2000, said the DC.
Kumar also informed the participants about cVIGIL App and its various provisions. Anyone can use the app to inform district administration about violation of Model Code of Conduct.
