Former CM hints of post poll alliance with JVM
Jamshedpur : Senior BJP leader and the former Jharkhand Chief Ministers Arjun Munda has hinted of possible post poll alliance with Babulal Marandi’s Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P) for the next assembly elections.
Talking to the newsmen after sharing stage with arc political rival and former CM Marandi, Munda said that nothing was impossible in politics and if situation arises the saffron party might go for alliance with JVM.
“It is really too early to comment at now. However there is immense possibility in politics. We may consider such an alliance based only on issues at an appropriate time,” he told newsmen pointing out that it could not be a one-sided affair. He also went on to add that the other party should also need to be keen for such a tie-up.
Munda was speaking on the sidelines of a premier show of a Santali documentary produced by Santali female singer Rani Mardi at Michael John Auditorium.
Meanwhile, the JVM supremo played it down asking reporters not to read too much into the meeting with Munda on a social platform. “We were here for a social cause and cannot discuss politics on this platform,” he quipped.
Meanwhile party insiders informed that efforts are on to make Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) leader Babulal Marandi to merge with the BJP. Marandi, a towering tribal leader in the state, had left the party in 2006 to float the JVM, following differences with the party leadership.
“Under Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi steps are being taken to bring back rebels such as Marandi to the fold to consolidate party’s position in the states ahead of the 2014 general elections,” said a BJP leader.
