Jamshedpur , Sept. 1: Several trains on the Mumbai- Howrah route travelling via Tatanagar have been cancelled due to track repairing following recent mishap of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express in Maharashtra.
Senior officials of Chakradharpur division informed that as per the circular issued Jnaneswari Super Deluxe Express traveling between LTT Mumbai and Howrah via Tatanagar will remain cancelled tomorrow.
Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express remained cancelled on Friday. The train will also remain cancelled tomorrow.
The Howrah – Mumbai Mail will remain cancelled for two days- today and tomorrow. The Dn train between Mumbai and Howrah was cancelled today. The LTT Mumbai-Tatanagar Antyodaya Express was also cancelled today.
The authorities also informed that the Howrah – Mumbai CST Weekly Superfast Express was also cancelled today.
The Shalimar-Mumbai LTT Kurla Express also remained off the tracks . The train will also not run between the two destinations via Tatanagar tomorrow.
Authorities at Chakradharpur railway division informed that a circular has been issued from Central Zone in this regard.
�Following derailment of the train, the tracks were damaged that need to be repaired to ensure smooth traffic. Tracks are being repaired at Asangaon-Vasind and Igatpuri-Kalyan railway sections of railway’s Central Zone. This has led to cancellation of several trains,” he said.
Located on the Howrah-Mumbai main route Tatanagar is an important station. Several important trains travel via Tatanagar, including the high-profile Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.
The station sees a daily traffic of 90 mail, express and passenger trains, besides a footfall of more than 60,000 passengers.
