Gamharia: There is no dearth of jobs for trained and skilled persons. To open employment avenues for the unemployed the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) has chalked out elaborate plan to impart training to the youths.
Union minister of state of MSME Giriraj Singh was addressing the convocation ceremony of ITDR at Indo-Danish Tool Room Auditorium here today.
Singh said that after agriculture the segment of MSME provided livelihoods to a large population across India. The ministry is committed to create a vast pool of trained manpower through imparting industry training to the unemployed in association with the industry houses.
Several organizations in association with the MSME ministry are holding skill-development training programmes. Last year about six lakhs youths got the training, Singh said, adding 15 million persons would be given skill-development training in the coming days.
Giriraj Singh further said that the �Make in India� call received encouraging response from various segments of trade and industry. The MSME department has taken up the steps to provide technical support, market and fund assistance to the entrepreneurs, he said. The minister further also said that 10 percent of rural women would be provided with Solar Charkha.
During his visit Giriraj Singh taken a look at the Tool Room and lauded the facilities and arrangements at the institution. Vice president (Corporate Affairs) Sunil Bhaskaran on the occasion stressed on the need of skill development and lauded efforts of IDTR in the direction.
Ranjit Dhar, head (Safety and Administration), Tata Motors spoke high of IDTR and assured assistance for placements for pass-out students. President of ASIA, SN Thakur also spoke on the occasion.
DGM, IDTR, Ashutosh Kumar said that the institute had started in 1991 with 20 students providing four �year diploma course.
Today each year about 14,000 students are being trained in IDTR, he said. Certificates were handed over the pass-out students on the occasion. A souvenir was also released.
