Waterlogging in Mango, rainwater enters houses
Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Waterlogging in Mango’s New Subhash Colony Road No. 1 has posed significant difficulties for the residents as rainwater inundated their houses. The absence of proper drainage facilities has resulted in rainwater and sewage forming a pond-like situation, cutting off local people’s access to the main road entirely. Consequently, the residents have found themselves trapped inside their homes, unable to move freely.
In the morning, the residents were dismayed to find knee-deep water accumulated in front of their houses, and dirty water had seeped inside, severely disrupting their daily activities. The situation has become dire, with children unable to attend school due to the waterlogging, and people facing challenges in obtaining essential daily items. The knee-deep water has significantly hindered people from going about their regular work and chores.
Local resident Arun Singh expressed the residents’ frustration, stating that they have lodged several complaints with the Mango Municipal Corporation, but no action has been taken, and public representatives have not visited the affected area. To add to the misery, the drainage system has not been cleaned for almost three months, and the lack of maintenance has led to the complete obstruction of the drain’s flow.
The situation has left the residents in dire straits, and they seek urgent attention from the authorities to address the waterlogging issue and restore normalcy to their lives.
