Sadar Hospital Jamshedpur receives NQAS Certificate for quality health care 

Jamshedpur, August 1: Sadar Hospital, the district hospital in Jamshedpur, has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) Certificate by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This recognition is a testament to the hospital’s commitment to providing top-notch health facilities and services to the community. Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, expressing his delight, congratulated the entire team of doctors and health workers, particularly commending Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi for their dedication and efforts.

Bhajantri emphasised that the achievement of the NQAS Certificate has filled the district with pride and that the hard work and enthusiasm of the doctors and health workers have been duly acknowledged at the national level. He reiterated the district administration’s commitment to further strengthen healthcare services and improve medical facilities in government hospitals, including district hospital, CHC, PHC, and health and wellness centers in both rural and urban areas.

NQAS serves as a crucial benchmark for assessing the quality of government hospitals. The District Hospital, Jamshedpur, received this prestigious certification after meeting various parameters set by NQAS and securing an impressive score of 86%.

Under the NQAS evaluation process, government health institutions are assessed on eight key parameters, which include the quality of health facilities offered, patient rights, availability of essential resources like medicines, competent service providers, effective quality management, proper maintenance, and efficient data assessment. The Civil Surgeon highlighted that this esteemed award was granted after a thorough evaluation of the hospital’s various wards and operation theaters, showcasing the significant contributions of the medical officers and employees from all departments.
