Railway police start intensive drive
Jamshedpur
: The railway police have launched an intensive drive between Chandil and Chakradharpur section for detecting a team of footballers who tried to molest a newly-wed woman on the Gomoh-Chakradhrarpur Passenger train near Sini under Chakradharpur railway division.

The woman along with her husband and father-in-law were injured as they jumped off the moving train near Sini.

Superintendent of railway police, Tatanagar, Mritunjay Kishore said that security has been briefed and a drive has been started to nab those youth who were involved in the act that forced a family to jump down the running train near Sini.

” Yes we have registered a case of molestation bid and assault against 15 youth who were apparently football players. We are trying best to get any clue of the miscreants who had boarded the train that night at Chandil,” said Kishore.

According to sources in the railway police, Kanchan Kumar ( 55) had boarded the Gomoh-Chakradharpur Passenger from Gomoh on Sunday afternoon for travelling to Bilaspur . As the train arrived at Chandil station at about 9 pm, a group of 15 youth had boarded the train.

Sources said all the boys in jersies resembling football players entered into the same compartment where the young woman and her family members were seated.

“As they entered the train they started passing vulgar comments. Some of them even tried to touch her. The woman’s husband Santh Kumar objected to the indecent behaviour of the miscreants. But sooner did Kumar raise his objection, the miscreants had started assaulting him and subsequently dragged him toward the door of the train,” said sources said.

According to sources, as the train had slowed down for negotiating a curve, the miscreants had pushed Kumar down the train, leading his wife and father-in-law too to jump down the train .

The police had administered first-aid at a hospital immediately and referred them to the MGM Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

But, instead of getting treatment at the medical college and hospital, the victims returned to Dhanbad by an evening train on Monday.
