Jamshedpur: The streets of Jamshedpur came alive on Sunday morning as nearly 180 children ran in the Mini Miles Marathon. Organised under the Project Masoom initiative, the event focused on empowering the younger generation through safety education and physical activity.
Leading by Example
Atul Bhatnagar, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, attended as the Chief Guest alongside Surbhi Bhatnagar. Their presence underscored the community’s commitment to child welfare and personal safety.
Beyond the Finish Line: The “Magic Mantra”
The marathon served as a platform for critical life lessons. Through the Masoom initiative’s Digital Suraksha sessions, children learned about:
-
Safe vs. Unsafe Touch: Understanding personal boundaries and the importance of speaking up.
-
The “Magic Mantra”: Children were taught the “No, Go, Tell” rule—encouraging them to refuse unsafe situations, leave the area immediately, and inform a trusted adult.
-
Digital Safety: Navigating the internet securely and responsibly.
-
Emergency Support: Raising awareness about the 1098 helpline for children in distress.
A Collective Effort
Members of Yi Jamshedpur spearheaded the event, ensuring a seamless blend of fitness and advocacy. The marathon successfully reinforced the idea that protecting children and creating safe environments is a shared responsibility for all citizens.
