MGM Hospital Bans Entry for Visitors Consuming Pan and Gutkha

Jamshedpur: MGM Hospital Superintendent Dr. Balram Jha has banned the entry of anyone consuming pan, gutkha, or any other intoxicants into the hospital premises.

The strict directive follows widespread defacing of the hospital property. Visitors have spat gutkha and pan throughout the building, discolouring the walls. This defacement occurs alongside existing infrastructural issues, where floor tiles have come loose, and the installation of the hospital’s false ceiling remains abandoned in several places.

To enforce the ban, Dr. Jha has instructed the Home Guard personnel deployed for hospital security to strictly bar anyone chewing pan or gutkha from entering the premises. He has also ordered security staff to take immediate punitive action against anyone caught violating these rules inside the hospital.
