Mercury to soar in Jharkhand after respite, yellow alert issued for Jamshedpur

Ranchi, May 14: The heat wave is going to increase once again in Jharkhand. The mercury will rise by 3 degrees in the next three days.

From May 15 to May 19, the sky will be cloudy but the weather will remain dry. There are chances of thunder and light rain in the north-eastern part of Jharkhand on May 20.

Ranchi Meteorological Center scientist Abhishek Anand said that light rain is expected in some districts today. Light to moderate rainfall may be recorded in some districts of the state like Deoghar, Gumla, Jamtara, Pakur, Godda and Sahibganj.

At the same time, yellow alert has been issued in some districts regarding strong wind and storm, which include West and East Singhbhum, Seraikela and Simdega.

It has rained with thunder at some places in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall in the state was recorded in Manoharpur in West Singhbhum, which received 10 mm rainfall. Apart from this, it has rained in many areas of the state including Gumla, Lohardaga.

The highest temperature in the state, 39.8 degrees Celsius, has been recorded in Daltonganj. The minimum temperature in the state was 23 degrees Celsius.
