Jamshedpur, Nov 16: State health minister and Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta said that he was saddened at the “humiliation” of Bhagwan Birsa Munda by Tata Steel officials on the occasion of Jharkhand State Foundation Day.

The Congress leader on Tuesday morning sat in front of the statue of J N Tata at Bistupur Postal Park and prayed that God should forgive Tata Steel executives for their actions which the leader termed as a sin.
The leader washed the bust of J. N Tata with water and Gangajal and offered floral obeisance. After this, he tied a black cloth in his mouth, took a placard in his hand and sat on a silent fast for one hour near the bust.
According to Banna, J N Tata, the founder of the Tata Group’s soul would also be saddened over the thinking of Tata Steel officers.
“The executives of Tata Steel forgot tribal icon Birsa Munda because they are not related to Jharkhand or the tribal icon and have come from outside. I am sure that if J. N Tata ji would have been alive today, he would never have tolerated this audacity of these officers, his life was always spent in making the facilities of the employees and the public a priority for which he was accorded a status of living God.
