Matric and Intermediate exams in Jamshedpur from 11th Feb, 47,636 students to appear

 

Jamshedpur: The upcoming Secondary (10th Board) and Intermediate (12th Board) examinations, scheduled from 11 February to 3 March 2025, will see a total of 47,636 students appearing across various centres in the district.

A total of 25,380 students are set to take the 10th board exams, while 22,256 students will appear for the Intermediate exams, including 13,595 from the Arts stream, 4,697 from Science, and 3,964 from Commerce. The 10th board exams will be conducted at 71 centres, and the 12th board exams at 35 centres.

To ensure a smooth and malpractice-free examination process, a high-level meeting was held at Sidgora Town Hall under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dhalbhum, Shatabdi Majumdar. The meeting, attended by Center Superintendents, deputed Magistrates, and law enforcement officials, focused on maintaining strict vigilance, ensuring law and order, and following the guidelines of the Jharkhand Examination Conducting Directory, 2025, and the Jharkhand Examination Conducting Act, 2001.

Superintendent of Police (Rural), Rishabh Garg, emphasized the role of static and patrolling magistrates along with police officers in ensuring a fair and transparent examination process. It was announced that surprise inspections would be conducted, and strict action would be taken against students caught engaging in malpractice.

The secondary examinations will be held in the first shift from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm, whereas the Intermediate examinations for Arts, Science, and Commerce will be conducted in the second shift from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Among the 71 identified Matriculation exam centres, 26 are in the Ghatsila subdivision and 45 in the Dhalbhum subdivision. Similarly, the 35 Intermediate exam centres include 12 in Ghatsila and 23 in Dhalbhum.

As per the directives, Section 144 will be enforced within a 100-metre radius of all exam centres to prevent any untoward incidents. Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying mobile phones or electronic gadgets. They must arrive at their respective examination centres at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Further instructions included the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras at all exam centres, ensuring proper monitoring, availability of drinking water, adequate lighting, functional toilets, and other necessary facilities for the candidates. Centre Superintendents were also directed to complete all logistical preparations in advance, including the timely delivery of question papers and answer sheets.

The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Officer (Ghatsila)  Sunil Chandra, District Education Officer  Manoj Kumar, District Education Superintendent  Ashish Kumar Pandey, deputed district-level officers, Block Development Officers, Police Officers, and all Centre Superintendents. The administration remains committed to conducting a smooth and fair examination process for all students.
