New Jamshedpur DC Manjunath Bhajantri assumes charge, pledges focus on panchayats for development works

Jamshedpur, July 27: Manjunath Bhajantri, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch, has taken charge as the 23rd Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum district, succeeding Vijaya Jadhav. In his inaugural address,  Bhajantri reiterated his commitment to maintaining law and order in the district and ensuring effective implementation of development projects. He emphasized that panchayats will play a central role in the progress of development initiatives.

Upon assuming office, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner expressed his dedication to timely execution of welfare schemes provided by the Central and State Governments. His primary goal is to ensure that these schemes reach all deserving individuals, including those in the most remote corners of society.  Bhajantri aims to streamline administrative processes to minimize the need for people in rural areas to visit government offices repeatedly for their requirements.

 Bhajantri emphasized the importance of empowering panchayats, block, and zonal offices to facilitate the efficient implementation of development schemes. By strengthening these local bodies and ensuring discipline within their functioning, he aims to enhance accessibility to benefits and services for residents in rural areas.

Outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Vijaya Jadhav, expressed her gratitude for her time serving in East Singhbhum district. She commended the progress made in various indicators during her tenure and expressed confidence in the continued growth and development of the district.

In his first meeting with senior officials, including SSP  Prabhat Kumar, DDC  Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum  Piyush Sinha, ADC  Jaideep Tigga, and others,  Bhajantri discussed law and order in the district. Emphasizing the significance of maintaining peace and harmony during the upcoming festival of Muharram on July 29, he instructed the authorities to ensure peaceful celebrations.

Bhajantri stressed the need for effective communication among officials and urged them to work cohesively. He also issued a directive to monitor social media and prevent the dissemination of misleading information that could impact law and order.

The Deputy Commissioner outlined his priorities, emphasizing the need to expedite development works and improve revenue collection. He assured the officers present that progress in all indicators would be actively pursued.

Bhajantri emphasized the importance of teamwork and encouraged open communication among office bearers to address any challenges that may arise promptly.

The appointment of Manjunath Bhajantri as the new Deputy Commissioner brings renewed energy and focus on development and governance in East Singhbhum district. His vision for empowering panchayats and promoting community welfare reflects a commitment to inclusive growth and development for all residents of the district.
