Jamshedpur : Tragedy struck in the city as a 38-year-old man fell from an electricity pole belonging to Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited ( JUVNL) at Patel Nagar along the Dimna Road under the Olidih police station area in Mango this morning. The victim, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, was rushed to MGM Medical College and Hospital’s emergency wing where he succumbed to his injuries within an hour.
The mishap took place as Pandey, who used to work on a temporary staff under JUVNL. Due to the fall he sustained grievous head injuries lost consciousness. Soon he was rushed to the MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency where he died shortly afterwards.
A local resident had lodged a complaint of fault in the power line, in order to address the complaint he had started mending the power line, but without switching off the power line.
A team from the department visited the spot and has assured the victim’s widow a compensation package in accordance with the JUVML’s policy. After Pandey was declared dead his family members and sympathisers had rushed to the medical college and hospital and were shouting slogans against the JUVML.
