Make Jamshedpur municipal corporation: Saryu Roy in Jharkhand Assembly

Ranchi, Dec 23: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy raised the demand for making Jamshedpur a municipal corporation in the Jharkhand Assembly once again on Friday. He expressed disappointment over the fact that the industrial city could not become a municipal corporation even after 22 years of formation of Jharkhand. He said the magnificent buildings in the city would be reduced to slums in the coming years in case the municipal corporation is not formed. He said the entire city could not be maintained in the absence of a municipal corporation.

On the directive of the Speaker, Minister Satyanand Bhokta said he would hold a meeting with MLA Saryu Roy and the departmental Secretary concerned to resolve the issue and fulfill the demand for forming a municipal corporation in the city.
