Jamshedpur, Dec 23: Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) has got the authorization from HRD Ministry, Government of India, for using the plagiarism detection software (PDS) ‘Original’ to prevent literary theft in research work. Vice Chancellor of JWU Professor Dr Anjila Gupta had earlier linked the university to the ‘Shodh Shuddhi’ programme of the Ministry. University Grants Commission (UGC) has formulated strict rules to curb plagiarism in theses. Researchers, their guide and author can face prosecution for literary theft. Now cases are being lodged for literary theft. The access of the PDS software has been given to the heads of all departments of JWU to detect and prevent literary thefts in theses and articles, said Dr Gupta.
