Jamshedpur, Nov 5: Former state minister and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy Saturday said he was ready to welcome any probe by the Anti Corruption Bureau in connection with allegations of corruption against him.

In a statement issued here today after publication of news of ACB seeking state government sanction to register a preliminary enquiry (PE) against him, Roy said, “I have come to know through newspapers that the ACB wants to probe allegations of corruption against me. Similar charges were levelled against me earlier by the supporters of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das. Then a delegation had met former Jharkhand Governor and demanded a CBI probe against me. At the same time, I had also written to ACB and other competent organizations for a probe and given a complaint letter. Even then I had said that I would welcome any such probe.”

Roy said the ACB should not waste time in registering PE against him and should instead directly lodge an FIR against him and seek the relevant records from the department concerned. He said the ACB should question him and others and dispose the probe fast in 15 to 20 days.
