Locals raise grievance at Janata Durbar in Potka

Assets, disability aids distributed among beneficiaries 

Jamshedpur, November 21: East Singhbhum district administration held a Janata Durbar at Potka block premises on Monday hearing grievances, distributing assets and receiving applications for welfare schemes.

Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav along with officials of various department and local elected representatives of the blocks attended the Janata Durbar.

Some problems raised by the villagers were resolved on the spot while the rest were listed and time bound execution was assured.

Nagi Murmu demanded expansion of the health center and increase in medical facilities, Sabina Khatoon of Haldipokhar raised the problem of electricity, Shivcharan Hansda of Tentalapoda, the hindrance arising due to dominance of middlemen in the implementation of development works in the Panchayat, in Tentalapoda.

 A villager raised the problem of some Sabar families not having Aadhaar, to which officials agreed to hold a camp and assured about the solution of the problem. Problems from dysfunctional tubewell, water tower, difficulties in availing PM Housing for rural , toilets, road repair, drinking water and all the complaints were assured of being resolved after investigation.

In the Janata Darbar, Bidyut Baran Mahato said that this is a good initiative of the government. On such occasions, the welfare schemes of the Central and State Government are also implemented along with publicity. He said that the villagers raised basic problems like electricity, health, roads, education and drinking water with great decency in the Janata Darbar. The MP said that keeping the matter in the Union Minister and the Parliament, 80,000 housing plus has been approved for the district.

For continuous availability of electricity, the work of making new grids and substations is being done. A demand has been made to the Center for the construction and repair of 372 roads for the district. Of these, 64 roads have been tendered, the rest will be constructed and repaired in a phased manner. With the joint expenditure of the Central and State Governments, tap water will reach every household through the mega mega water supply scheme. Pure drinking water will be available in 36,000 houses. Facilities will increase in the health sector. New Community Health Center building will be constructed for Potka and Dumaria block.

On the occasion, wheel chairs were provided to 3 disabled, tricycles to a beneficiary and hearing aids to three disabled. Under the Pradhanmantri Matru Vandana Yojana, assistance of Rs.5000 each to five beneficiaries, forest lease to one beneficiary, grant of Rs.1 lakh each to the families of five people who died in a road accident, ration card to five beneficiaries, six Pension approval to the beneficiaries, loan amount of Rs. 8 lakh to four women self-help groups, KCC to three beneficiaries, Rs 25,000 to two beneficiaries as first installment under Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, benefits of many other schemes to the villagers given .

Along with the distribution of assets in the Janata Darbar, food was distributed to the new born children by the guests and blankets were distributed among the needy.
