Jamshedpur: The District Legal Services Authority (DALSA) in coordination with Sakchi Mahila Thana, conducted a legal camp at the Cooperative College slum area. DALSA spokesperson Rajiv Kumar was present at the camp as chief guest. In his address to the slum folks at the camp, Kumar acquainted them with the various projects for uplift of laborers being conducted by the Labor Department.
The DALSA spokesperson observed that being ignorant of the various labor related government projects, the laborers were not able to reap the benefits to be accrued through the implemented schemes.
Rajiv Kumar said, It is due to your ignorance that you are not being able to take advantage of the government projects envisioned for your benefit. You, who are temporary laborers and belong to the unorganized sector have been provided with innumerable benefits like weekly day off, provident fund benefits which should be informed by their employers. If you are being deprived of these schemes, you should take up the issues taking DALSAs help.
Addressing the workers, Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) Sunil Pandey informed that the government had launched several projects for womens upliftment.
The camp proceedings were conducted by PLV Joba Rani Baskey. The camp was also attended by PLV Sanjay Tiwary, Sunita Kumari and others.
