Iranian Missile Strike Hits Tel Aviv; Several injured

Tel Aviv: An Iranian missile struck Tel Aviv on Tuesday, injuring several people and damaging infrastructure as the regional conflict entered its 25th day. Israeli authorities report that the strike caused powerful blast waves, shattering buildings and vehicles across the commercial hub.

The Strike in Tel Aviv

According to Israel’s Army Radio, the attack apparently involved a cluster-type missile carrying multiple 100 kg bomblets.

  • Impact Zones: A missile struck between residential structures in northern Tel Aviv. While the blast heavily damaged three buildings, Miki David of the Home Front Command confirmed that intact shelters protected the residents inside.

  • Casualties: The Magen David Adom ambulance service treated six people for light injuries at the scene; none required hospitalization.

  • Widespread Alerts: Air raid sirens sounded seven times overnight across Israel. The latest alerts reached as far south as Dimona, the site of Israel’s nuclear facility.

U.S. Escalation: Airborne Troops on Standby

As tensions escalate, The New York Times reports that the Pentagon is considering deploying airborne troops to support operations against Iran.

  • The 82nd Airborne: Officials are weighing the deployment of the “Immediate Response Force,” a brigade of 3,000 soldiers capable of mobilizing within 18 hours.

  • Strategic Targets: Reports suggest these forces, or 2,500 troops from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, could seize Kharg Island—Iran’s primary oil export hub.

  • Ongoing Combat: U.S. Central Command confirmed it has conducted over 9,000 strikes in Iran since joint U.S.-Israel operations began on February 28, sinking more than 140 naval vessels.

Diplomatic Deadlock

The strikes continue despite President Donald Trump’s claims of ongoing negotiations. Iranian officials have dismissed these claims as “fake news,” while the global economy reels from soaring oil prices and disrupted shipping lanes.
