Lalpania being developed as tourist spot: Amar Bauri

Jamshedpur: State government has taken several initiatives to develop the Lugu Buru Ghantabari hill in Lalpania at Bokaro which is the holy place of pilgrimage for the Santhal community.

State tourism minister Amar Bauri recently inspected the hill with the local Deputy Commissioner and other officials. He said the government wanted to turn the place into a tourist hotspot. He issued instructions to the district officials regarding development of the area.

Sources said a tent city equipped with various facilities is being built for around 10,000 Santhali pilgrims. Around 500 temporary toilets are also being built for the pilgrims. Efforts are being made to prevent traffic jams at the pilgrimage venue. This was informed by district BJP president Dinesh Kumar and another party leader Ramesh Hansda at a press meet in Sakchi on Friday.

Hansda said those desirous of pilgrimage may apply to the local block office. Buses will be provided to the pilgrims, he said.
