Jamshedpur, March 6: Lajpat Public School can look forward to new school norms such as redesigned classrooms, a hi-fi computer lab, well equipped IT, Smart class and many such benefits will be provided to the students, said Gyan Taneja, a prominent Social worker of the city and President of newly formed Shiksha Samiti.
Taneja further said that it high time that we bring in these changes and with the agreement with Dyanand Public School (DPS) it will benefit the teachers and students on the whole and with English medium schools need of the hour it will help shift the attention from famous schools of the city. The school was established in 1993 and has since been improving towards better education.
Also present at the press meet, Swarna Bhaskar, Principal of DPS informed that the immediate action will include appraisal of teachers from the current session, teachers will be given training and will observe through the teaching pattern at DPS. As Lajpat Public School (LPS)has classes upto class 7 the students after class 7 will be shifted to DPS where they can pass out after their plus 2 from ICSE board.
A 25% waiver in admission fees will be given for children who already have a brother or sister studying at LPS, said Rajendra Sachdeva of new Shiksha Samiti which has been formed overseeing LPS. A total of 125 students are currently studying at LPS and we have set a target of 200 students by the end of this (new) session. Swarna Bhaskar also said that the new facilities will encourage more interaction and selfdiscovery, and facilitate experiential and hands-on learning. The Samiti will provide schools with greater flexibility to conduct Physical Education lessons and co-curricular activities at all times of the day and weather conditions, as well as provide more opportunities for students to take part in mass sports activities, and/or train in competitive sports.
We will focus more on extracurricular and interschool activities which are most important part of learning. Interaction with the parents will be done on regular intervals, with these, students will be able to benefit from a wider range of activities that will nurture life skills and develop their character, added Bhaskar.
