JYM demands revocation of rail fare hike

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Yuva Morcha (JYM) members burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union railway minister Sadanand Gowda on Saturday to register protest against the railway budget provisions.

They demanded that the decision to increase railway passenger and goods fares should be rolled back as it would lead to further inflation in the country.

The outfit members gathered around the Sakchi roundabout and raised slogans against the Union government. They said the BJP had promised to bring good days to the people.

But now the harsh decisions being taken by the government seem to belie the perception of the people about the BJP, the protestors said.

Those present during the demonstration included Sagen Purty, Shyamal Sarkar, Dal Govind Lohra, Manoj Pandey, Sunil Gupta, Yug Kumar Das, Amrik Singh and Uday Singh.
