Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha(JVM) activists burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union railway minister Sadanand Gowda on Saturday to protest hike in rail fare at Sakchi roundabout.
District JVM president Firoz Khan led the agitation. The protestors said the decision taken by the government had far-reaching implications and that it was bound to lead to an increase in the rate of inflation.
They said the BJP government was not keeping its words by hiking the rail fare. Many party members were present during the agitation.
