Jamshedpur: Examinees are facing difficulties in taking the Intermediate exams at the Jamshedpur Womens College, Bistupur. The reason behind this situation is the fact that the total number of examinees appearing for the exams on a daily basis is 1340. But the actual capacity of the examination halls in the college is just 768.
According to sources, there are a total of 10 examination rooms in the college. Jharkhand Academic Council has made Jamshedpur Womens College the examination centre for a total of 2452 students. This is causing difficulty in accommodating all the examinees.
In view of the high number of examinees, the college administration has sought security arrangements from the district administration. It has demanded that at least four armed jawans should be deputed outside every examination hall and that there should be 10 security guards at the college gate.
The college principal Dr Purnima Kumar said the Deputy Commissioner has been apprised of the security concern raised by the college administration. There are only three women cops at the examination centre, she said.
