Jamshedpur: Kolhan University Syndicate has given approval to a proposal which makes provision for a six month maternity leave for the women staff. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor Dr Shukla Mohanty on Saturday.
Sources further informed that the Syndicate members also gave nod to a proposal to give 20 per cent incentive to the Class IV staff doing class III work. Such staff are given 10 per cent incentive at present. In another decision, it was proposed to provide Rs 15,000 to the three new colleges in Jagannathpur, Majhgaon and Manoharpur.
Sources said the Syndicate has set up a committee headed by the Pro-VC Dr RK Singh to inquire into pendency of PHD department works.
Among those present at the Syndicate meeting included KU Registrar Dr SN Singh, DSW Professor AK Upadhyaya, Proctor Dr AK Jha, CCDC Dr JP Mishra, FA Madhusudan, FO Sudhanshu Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Dr Digamber Hansda, Manoj Kumar Singh and Dr SP Rajwar.
