Jamshedpur, April 19: JUSCO School South Park successfully concluded the Earth Week celebration on April 21.
More than 2000 students participated in the celebration held in the school premises from April 15 to 21.
The week culminated today with the sapling plantation drive and waste management activities. Theme of the activities – “Spreading Greenovation – Invest in our Planet” .

As part of the sapling plantation drive 50 Ashoka saplings were planted in JUSCO School South Park in collaboration with RHI Magnesita India Limited. Special Guests on the occasion were Bikash Nandi, Senior Vice President RHI Magnesita India Limited, Jiju Thomas, Senior Manager JEM Foundation, Akshay Sharma Marketing & Purchase Head, P&M City Centre Mall.
During waste management & segregation the middle and high school students in collaboration with the KORU Foundation collected the 5 types of recyclable wastes and segregated them as bottles, cans, plastic packets, stationery items and E – waste.

Series of activities signifying the theme of Greenovation were held as part of the celebration. Students of Nursery to class 12 actively participated.

LKG – Tree formation by Ear bud Painting
UKG – Thumb Painting
Std 1 – Handprint Plant Making
Std 2 – Crown of Grass Making
Std 3 – Book Mark Making
Std 4 – Greeting Card Making
Std 5 – Poster Making on Save Electricity/Water
Std 6 to Std 12 – Glass Bottle Painting/Decorations, Placards Making & Wall Painting.
Parent Participation – 100 Mothers of Junior School students were invited to celebrate the day along with the toddlers. Parents of Middle and High school were invited as Judges for various Earth Day activities .
The activities were organized and coordinated by Tami Sikdar, Sr. School Coordinator and Gurmeet Kaur, Vice Principal , JUSCO School South Park.
More than 2000 students participated in the above mentioned competitions and activities. Speaking on the occasion Mili Sinha, Principal JUSCO School South Park, emphasized on the importance of small steps towards protecting our Mother Earth which can create a sustainable greener World tomorrow.
