Jamshedpur, Feb 5: An interesting political development has emerged in the Jugsalai Municipal Council election ahead of the upcoming urban local body polls in Jamshedpur. In a major show of unity, Nutan Singh, wife of BJP leader Pappu Singh, has announced that she will withdraw her nomination in support of BJP-backed candidate Rinku Singh, the wife of Shivji Singh alias Guddu Singh.

After day-long efforts by BJP Jamshedpur district president Sanjeev Sinha and municipal election in-charge Abhay Singh, both Pappu Singh and Nutan Singh agreed to stand firmly with the party and extend full support to the party-backed candidate. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is Friday, February 6 and Nutan Singh confirmed that she will formally withdraw her nomination within the stipulated time.

Following the announcement, both candidates exchanged sweets and greeted each other by presenting shawls and party stoles, symbolizing unity and consensus. Several senior BJP leaders and party workers, including district president Sanjeev Sinha, Abhay Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Mahendra Jain, Anil Modi, Lalchand Singh, Amar Singh, Hanu Jain and others, were present on the occasion.

All leaders jointly appealed to voters to ensure the victory of Rinku Singh. They stated that even though the election is not being contested on a party symbol, collective efforts would be made to prevent any attempts to re-establish fear or intimidation and to support a candidate aligned with the party’s ideology and vision.
